Role overview

The Senior Test Analyst is responsible for quality and timeliness of EPLs deliverables, efficiency of testing tasks, progress, and reporting. In this role there is an accountability to play a in key role in testing, defect management, evaluation of test results and reporting on progress against the test plan.

The Senior Test Analyst will mentor and oversee the work of the team including providing support and technical leadership expertise on best test practices within EPL.

This role is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of testing services which include test planning, test case specification, test script preparation, test execution, test data management and test closure activities.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

Software testing analysis
  • Responsible for executing EPL’s testing practice that contributes to the achievement of EPL’s strategic objectives.
  • Develop and manage the test library to encourage effective reuse of test plans.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define testing scope, objectives and deliverables.
  • Oversee the execution of test cases, ensuring comprehensive coverage of requirements.
  • Support the Agile methodology and actively embed Agile practices within EPL to ensure alignment on testing objectives.
  • Identify ways to improve and automate the testing to optimize test processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure testing services are delivered on time and to agreed quality standards.
Quality improvement
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in software testing practices and lead out implementation of them.
  • Develop, document, and implement applicable improvement in processes and procedures to provide more effective quality methods.
  • Identify changes and improvements that increase quality and ways to implement them.
Coaching and mentoring
  • Clarifies expected skills and current level of ability by asking and giving information and checking for understanding.

Required experience, skills and knowledge

To be successful in this position you will need:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in relevant technology fields
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Test Analyst / Senior Analyst role which includes manual and automation experience.
  • Excellent communication and written skills.
  • Good understanding of the entire testing process and how it fits to the SDLC.
  • Ability to manage priorities
  • Ability to estimate work effort and time frames and deliver to agreed timelines.
  • 2+ years’ experience working in an Agile environment.
  • ISTQB foundation testing certification or similar desirable
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and customers.
  • Payroll experience (desirable)
  • Having knowledge or experience working within the Scaled Agile Framework.
  • Previous experience in coordinating and overseeing the work of other Test Analysts, including mentoring, and providing testing expertise on test process and best practice.
  • Experience in Change Management, Test Management, Incident Management and IT implementation practices.
